FOR THE HOLIDAYS that inspire me to decorate, notably Christmas, I tend to repeat things year after year.
I haul out the same old strings of lights and plastic holly garlands from the basement, and usually that’s sort of nice.
But this year, with the world feeling increasingly out of whack, I’ve found myself craving a holiday season that feels more than sort of nice.
I don’t want to ignore what’s going on around me, but I do want a reminder that there’s also whimsy and glitter in the world.
