Satellite manufacturer Terran Orbital is "looking at everything" regarding the company's future, CEO Marc Bell told CNBC, as it considers Lockheed Martin' s acquisition offer. "We found out about [Lockheed's takeover bid] when the rest of the world found out about it," Bell said on CNBC's "Manifest Space" podcast. The defense giant is already a significant stakeholder in Terran Orbital, with a 28.3% stake at the time of the proposal. Terran Orbital declined to comment on a shareholder lawsuit filed Wednesday in response to the company's board adopting a "poison pill" stock rights plan after Lockheed's offer. Bell added that Terran Orbital is "thrilled with the validation" that Lockheed's offer gave it.

Hawaiian Airlines is rolling out complimentary Wi-Fi via SpaceX's Starlink on board commercial flights this week, the companies told CNBC, the first major U.S. airline to offer the satellite-based service. Hawaiian's plan for complimentary Wi-Fi comes as airlines ramp up their offerings for high-speed connectivity. "It really feels like an experience that should not be possible when you get on a commercial airline flight. Hawaiian signed an agreement with SpaceX in April 2022, looking to utilize the Starlink network – which consists of more than 5,000 satellites in low Earth orbit and boasts more than 2.3 million customers worldwide. The airline didn't previously offer inflight Wi-Fi.

Astronauts love fighter jets, and billionaire founder Jared Isaacman is no different. Isaacman, who founded payments company Shift4, is deep into training with his team for the first spaceflight of the Polaris Program, announced earlier this year, in partnership with Elon Musk's SpaceX. Isaacman's crew of four is using fighter jets — including aircraft from his personal fleet — to prepare for flying to orbit on the first mission, called Polaris Dawn. "We can't go to space very often [and there] is a lot of planning that goes into a mission," Isaacman told CNBC's Morgan Brennan at an airfield in Bozeman, Montana. "We want to use as much time leading up to [the launch] for training as possible," Isaacman said, adding that "using fighter aircraft is a great analog" to spaceflight.
