He replaced Dutchman Nyck de Vries mid-season at the junior team, renamed to AlphaTauri and rebranded as the “sister team” to Red Bull. Red Bull realitiesRicciardo’s return to Red Bull marked a full circle moment for the Aussie, having joined the team’s academy in 2008. Despite having a contract for the next two seasons, incumbent Red Bull second driver Sergio Pérez is on the hotseat after recent struggles.

CNN —Lewis Hamilton won his home race at the British Grand Prix on Sunday, battling to a thrilling, record-extending victory as the lead changed hands several times on a rain-slicked track at Silverstone. For Hamilton to win his last British Grand Prix with Mercedes – the team with whom he dominated the sport for so long – seemed like a “fairytale,” team principal Toto Wolff told broadcaster Sky Sports after the race. Lewis Hamilton celebrates on the podium after winning the British Grand Prix. “This is my last race here at the British Grand Prix with this team, so I wanted to win this so much for them. But both Mercedes cars ran wide off the track across the run-off shortly afterwards, allowing Norris to overtake Russell and then to accelerate past Hamilton too.

Fortunately, though, his home race has proved to be a very happy hunting ground with Hamilton winning a record eight times at the circuit. “I think when we were winning all the time, it was just, ‘Yeah, we’re winning.’ That’s where I think that was. CNN —Lando Norris said he would lose respect for friend Max Verstappen if the Red Bull driver fails to apologize for a collision between the pair during a controversial Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday. Race stewards later handed Verstappen a 10-second penalty for causing the collision which led to Norris retiring from the race with a puncture and car damage. If he says he did nothing wrong, then I lose a lot of respect for that,” a “disappointed” Norris told Sky Sports during his post-race interview. I’m just gutted for the team,” Norris added. CNN —Red Bull’s Max Verstappen won the the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday – his third successive triumph in Montreal – after the three-time world champion expertly navigated an unpredictable race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. “I do think it was a very good team effort today,” Verstappen said in his post-race interview. But as conditions dried, Norris took his chance to overtake both Verstappen and Russell to take the lead. He was then left with too much distance to make up and was left hoping Verstappen and Red Bull would slip up. “We should have won today, simple as that,” a clearly frustrated Norris told reporters after the race.

CNN —Max Verstappen is racing “on another planet,” according to Red Bull team manager Christian Horner, after the three-time world champion dominated a crash-filled Chinese Grand Prix to record yet another victory. “His form is absolutely fantastic,” Horner told broadcaster Sky Sports. CNN —As Las Vegas gears up to stage its first Formula One Grand Prix in more than 40 years, three-time world champion Max Verstappen appears unenthused by the prospect of racing in the glitzy host city. But Red Bull driver Verstappen, who wrapped up his most recent world title last month, isn’t particularly enamored by the theater atmosphere on display in Las Vegas. Not all the drivers, who were introduced to the crowd via ascending and descending platforms during the opening ceremony, necessarily shared Verstappen’s view. “Of course, there has been a lot of show already with the opening ceremony. However, Red Bull Racing’s 2023 competitor, the RB19, has absolutely fried the system and blown past the boundaries of what appeared possible in this sport. Mark Thompson/Getty ImagesNewey has been designing F1 cars since 1988 and has won 12 Constructors’ Championships, split between his time at Williams, McLaren and Red Bull. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has described Newey as “the only bloke that can see air” in an interview with Red Bull. And Mercedes eventually ceded its position at the summit of F1 to Red Bull in 2022 after being in control for much of the turbo-hybrid era. But it does raise the question: how far can Red Bull go?

CNN —It has been a while since Red Bull failed to win a Formula One race so the Singapore Grand Prix gave fans some unexpected variety when Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz secured victory in Sunday’s night race. Such has been Red Bull’s dominance, the last time one of their drivers failed to win a race was in November 2022, when Mercedes’ George Russell won the Brazilian Grand Prix. Red Bull’s qualifying struggles opened the door for others on Sunday and it was Sainz who capitalized, claiming victory from pole position to end Red Bull’s hopes of winning every race this year. McLaren’s Lando Norris was second, while Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton was third, finishing over a second behind the Spaniard who celebrated his second win for Ferrari. “We nailed the race,” Sainz told reporters.
