Fyre Festival is set to return for round two next spring, this time on a privately owned island off Mexico. McFarland said he hopes to gather 3,000 people for Fyre Fest II, scheduled for April 25-28. Whereas he gave himself only six months from the idea for the first Fyre Fest to its attempted execution, McFarland said, he has spent a full year working on Fyre Fest II, with more than seven months to go. The first iteration of Fyre Fest promised ticket buyers luxury villas and gourmet food at what was supposed to be an extravagant music festival in the Bahamas. In August 2023, the first drop of 100 presale tickets for Fyre Fest II (at $499 apiece) sold out within a day, even though its website at the time offered no lineup, no specific location and no details about accommodations.

New York CNN —Red Lobster wants to close several dozen more restaurants following its bankruptcy, and it has identified which ones are in danger of shutting down if the court approves its plan. The chain, which brought affordable shrimp and lobster to middle-class America and grew to become the largest seafood restaurant chain in the world, filed for bankruptcy last month. Red Lobster said that it had more than $1 billion in debt and less than $30 million in cash on hand. Part of its plan is to close some locations of its nearly 600 restaurants in the meantime. A few weeks prior to its bankruptcy, it abruptly closed around 50 locations across the United States.

New York CNN —A Delaware state court judge has thrown out the 2018 pay package that helped to make Tesla CEO Elon Musk one of the richest people in the world. He said Tesla investors will benefit from the decision by having the “dilution from this gargantuan pay package erased.”Attorneys for Musk and the Tesla board argued the pay package was approved by a shareholder vote. Excluding the votes owned by Musk and his brother, 73% of the shares voting in that election supported the pay package. The company’s market cap was valued at $54 billion at the time the pay package was approved. BROOKLYN, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio high school football coach says he was forced to resign by his school district and intended no harm to opposing players after he and his team repeatedly used “Nazi” as a game call in a Sept. 22 match. In an interview with The Associated Press Thursday, former Brooklyn High School coach Tim McFarland said he never meant any offense by using the term and that it “didn't even occur” to him that it could be taken as antisemitic. But the team's use of “Nazi” has been largely criticized as such, especially given that the plays were called during a game against Beachwood High School — a school based in a largely Jewish Cleveland suburb. Citing an Ohio high school coaching book from the 1990s, Pattakos said “Nazi” is often used in football to warn teammates of what is known as a “blitz." A high school football coach in the Cleveland area resigned on Monday after he and his team repeatedly used the word “Nazi” as a play-call reference during a game on Friday night, school officials said. The coach, Tim McFarland, who led Brooklyn High School’s football team, and his players used the term in the first half of a game against Beachwood High School, Robert Hardis, the superintendent of the Beachwood schools, said in a statement.
