CNN —The Pentagon is unlikely to use all of the billions of dollars authorized by Congress to arm Ukraine before President Joe Biden leaves office, according to two US officials and three defense officials. For months, the US has run into the limits of its ability to replenish its own weapons inventories, which limited what the Biden administration has been able to send Ukraine. In September, Biden committed billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine as President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the White House. The US announced a $1 billion military aid package for Ukraine that same day. But the value of aid packages quickly dipped, as the stockpiles of weapons and equipment the Pentagon was able to send Kyiv dwindled.

The company behind a search for pilot Amelia Earhart's possible crash site in the Pacific said a sonar image believed to resemble her plane turned out to be the sea floor's normal shapes. Marine robotics firm Deep Sea Vision said earlier this month on its social media accounts that imagery from an underwater drone deployed during the expedition turned out to show a "natural rock formation." The company, based in Charleston, South Carolina, did not immediately respond to a request for more information about its conclusion. Deep Sea Vision's Instagram page also featured a post this month of a branded T-shirt with the sonar image that states: "We find rocks." Romeo told CNN that the company hopes to return to the area to continue the search for Earhart's last location.

Experts point to turnout and dissatisfaction with the economy as the driving forces behind the results. “The main story is the relatively low levels of turnout for Harris in key Democratic places compared to Biden in 2020,” Kollman said. Riverside, another California county where Asian Americans have strong representation, also flipped for the GOP in a photo-finish race decided by a few thousand votes. But while Harris’ vote count grew 21%, it was no match for Trump’s nearly 50% improvement. The Navy trains 3,900 new culinary specialists every year at the Navy Culinary Specialist "A" School at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. Students learn the importance of sanitation and nutrition, techniques of cookery, small-quantity baking, and culinary math. Their training culminates during Galley Week, when the students spend a week preparing meals in a kitchen environment similar to what they'll find on Navy vessels. Once they graduate, new culinary specialists will spend three to five years preparing meals at sea, deploying for up to nine months at a time.

It's a "no-brainer" for "anyone in their 20s," says Eustache Clerveaux, a certified financial planner and senior analyst at Hudson Financial Group. This includes Roth 401(k)s. But for younger workers who don't have access to a workplace plan, a Roth IRA can be a great way to start building wealth. Like a 401(k), Roth IRA contributions benefit from compound interest, where your money and its returns grow together over time. Younger investors are less likely to hit Roth IRA income limitsOne key reason to start investing in your 20s is that you're more likely to qualify for a Roth IRA. This makes it an ideal time to pay taxes upfront on Roth IRA contributions.

Tucked away in the frigid northern corner of Siberia are giant craters, some deep enough to fit a 15-story building. It's been fairly clear from the beginning that the craters are caused by some type of explosion deep underground. Researchers widely agreed that when these hydrates are damaged, they release methane gas, which is what's triggering the explosions in Siberia. AdvertisementMore exploding craters to comeSiberia will likely have more explosive craters in the coming years as global temperatures continue to warm. It's unclear exactly how much methane these explosions release, but in the grand scheme of climate change, they're a small matter.

The pay limit has been in place since the end of a labor dispute that caused the cancellation of the entire 2004-05 NHL season. Sports business experts said the strict salary cap has helped the league's financial health since the full season stoppage. The hard salary cap is a stark difference from Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association, which have no salary cap and a soft salary cap, respectively. But the hard cap means NHL teams have to be especially diligent. The NHL is planning to start negotiations with the NHLPA in early 2025, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said at this year's NHL Board of Governors meeting.
