Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $17 billion contract to develop the next generation of interceptors that would guard the United States against an intercontinental ballistic missile attack, two industry sources briefed on the matter told Reuters. Both Lockheed and the Missile Defense Agency declined to comment. The sources did not indicate the length of the contract, but the first interceptor is expected to be operational in 2028. The NGI is currently in its technology development phase and will transition to its product development phase in May, according to written testimony submitted by the head of the Missile Defense Agency, Lieutenant General Heath Collins, last week. The United States then decided to restart the contract process to gather bids on designing the whole interceptor including the "kill vehicle."

As soon as she knew her husband wasn’t coming back, Terri Martin logged onto Facebook Marketplace and bought a 1949 General Electric refrigerator for $5. Her marriage might be over, she thought, but her relationship with her home certainly wasn’t. “I started to realize that even without him, I still loved the house,” said Ms. Martin, 37, a knitwear designer in Cincinnati. With her husband, Tim Larson, 37, out of the picture, Ms. Martin would no longer have to sell him on her vision of a retro kitchen that would embrace the historic character of the 1916 American Foursquare, a house the couple bought in 2021 for $180,000. “It is exciting to think about doing the entire kitchen now and not having to compromise,” Ms. Martin said on Feb. 1, hours after filing for a dissolution of marriage.

A letter from Donald Trump's court monitor in his fraud trial suggests he lied about a $48 million loan. The team also provided a memo from the Trump Org's legal department stating that the loan was paid off. The Daily Beast first reported on Sunday the note from Jones is a clue Trump used a fake $48 million loan as a vessel to avoid paying income taxes. REUTERS/Thomas Peter/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsNov 1 (Reuters) - British luxury carmaker Aston Martin (AML.L) posted a wider-than-expected quarterly loss on Wednesday and lowered its 2023 volume outlook due to production issues for its new sports car DB12. Aston Martin started delivery of its next-generation sports car DB12 last quarter, and expects its 2023 volume to come in at 6,700 units, from an earlier forecast of about 7,000 units. "Given the initial delays experienced with the DB12 ramp up during Q3, we have marginally updated our FY volume outlook as the impact limits production capacity for the full year," the company said in a statement. The London-listed company, which retained the rest of its 2023 outlook, reported an adjusted operating loss of 48.4 million pounds ($58.82 million) on revenue of 362.1 million pounds in the three-month period ended Sept. 30. Analysts on average had expected an adjusted operating loss of 38 million pounds on net revenue of 370 million pounds.

“We will not take a break and we cannot stop now, and we will continue to pass life-saving laws until we end gun violence in Connecticut. Our lives depend on it,” said Jeremy Stein, executive director of Connecticut Against Gun Violence. Immediately after it was passed, the law was challenged in court by gun rights supporters. Connecticut’s landmark 2013 gun law, passed in response to the 2012 elementary school shooting in Newtown that claimed 26 lives, is also being contested in court. Besides Connecticut, which has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, other politically liberal-leaning states including California, Washington, Colorado and Maryland also have passed gun laws this year that face legal challenges.

March 25 (Reuters) - Reigning world champion Francesco Bagnaia won the first ever MotoGP sprint with a last-lap overtake at the season-opening Portuguese Grand Prix on Saturday to earn 12 points and move to the top of the rider's standings ahead of the race on Sunday. On the final lap, Martin looked set to take the chequered flag but the Spaniard went wide on a turn, opening the door for Bagnaia to storm ahead and win the sprint. "It was fun, but it was difficult for the win," said Bagnaia, who had dropped to third midway through the sprint. Amazon needs to get its house in order, according to Needham. Analyst Laura Martin lowered her 2023 estimates for Amazon, while maintaining her fourth quarter 2022 estimates, noting that the tech giant's costs are almost at parity with its revenue. For 2023, Martin lowered her total net sales estimate to $564 billion, which is 5% below her previous estimate. In November, Amazon started laying off thousands of employees as CEO Andy Jassy started a review of the company's expenses. However, investors also want AMZN to demonstrate upside pricing power in 2023, since cost-cutting has limits to driving valuation upside," Martin wrote.
