WASHINGTON — As president, Donald Trump slashed a lucrative tax break enjoyed by coastal donors and suburban swing-state voters. CNN —A judge on Thursday threw out three charges in the sweeping Georgia election subversion case, including two charges that former President Donald Trump faces. In a separate ruling, Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee also upheld the marquee racketeering charge in the case, which Trump is also facing. In the ruling, McAfee also threw out a separate count of filing false documents, which Trump was charged with. Trump was only named in two of the three charges that McAfee threw out Thursday. The awkward ruling from McAfee comes as he has only partial jurisdiction over the 2020 election meddling case.

SpaceX pulled off its first spacewalk in the early hours of Thursday morning, in a historic first for a company. The marquee event of the private Polaris Dawn mission went smoothly, with two of the crew members — Jared Isaacman and Sarah Gillis — stepping outside of SpaceX's Dragon capsule "Resilience." It's the first time civilians, and not government astronauts, have performed a spacewalk. The spacewalk, otherwise known as an extravehicular activity, or EVA, is seen by SpaceX as a crucial milestone in its goal of sending people to other planets. The mission is also the first to fly employees of the company, represented by mission specialist Gillis and medical officer Anna Menon.

Apple on Monday charged into the artificial intelligence craze with a new iPhone lineup that marks the company’s latest attempt to latch onto a technology trend and transform it into a cultural phenomenon. The four different iPhone 16 models will all come equipped with special chips needed to power a suite if AI tools that Apple hopes will make its marquee product even more indispensable and reverse a recent sales slump. Most of Apple’s AI functions will roll out as part of a free software update to iOS 18, the operating system that will power the iPhone 16 coming out in December. English will be the featured language at launch but an update enabling other languages will come out next year, according to Apple.
