TEL AVIV, Israel — Israel's emergency services are treating dozens of casualties after a truck rammed into a bus as it was dropping of passengers at a bus stop near Glilot military base north of Tel Aviv on Sunday morning. A spokesperson for Israel’s police force said a preliminary investigation indicated that the truck collided with passengers as well as the bus. United Hatzalah, a volunteer emergency services, said "a large number of pedestrians" were involved, and that people remained trapped under the truck 30 minutes after the incident. Thailand’s foreign ministry said it was “profoundly saddened” by the death of a Thai worker in northern Israel on Friday, according to a statement. The Thai foreign ministry disputed that account, saying the death, and the injury of another of its nationals, had resulted from “an explosion of dropped ammunition” without providing additional details. A rocket from Lebanon struck a soccer field on Saturday in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights, killing at least 10 people, including some youths, according to an Israeli emergency rescue service and the Israeli military. CNN —Hamas said the attackers behind a Jerusalem bus stop shooting that killed three people on Thursday were members of its military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades. Seven people were also injured after the two attackers, identified by Hamas as two brothers, opened fire on a group of people in Jerusalem, authorities said. The attackers were killed by two soldiers and a civilian, Jerusalem District Commander Doron Turgeman said on Thursday. RAMLA, Israel (AP) — Hours after Hamas militants attacked southern Israel on Oct. 7, the country's new fortified, subterranean blood bank kicked into action. Shiner said the center provided tens of thousands of units of blood in the days that followed the Hamas attacks. The new steel and concrete 51,000-square-meter (550,000-square-foot) building processes all of Israel’s donated blood. In early October, the center received 5,000 units of blood in one day — five times more than usual, said its staff. “During war, blood is part of the resuscitation process and the idea is to have a stock, to be able to give blood as soon as it’s needed,” said Guillemette Thomas, the medical coordinator for Doctors Without Borders.
