“But we know with the explosion of social media that parents are using it to monetize kids being on videos.
That California law required parents to set aside a portion of 15% of child earnings in a blocked trust account that the child actor could access after the age of 18.
“Even though Illinois is the first state to pass such a law, this legislation is a long time coming,” Maddox said.
