Richard M. Cohen, an outspoken and award-winning television news producer whose career was eventually derailed by the ravages of multiple sclerosis, which he wrote about in a best-selling memoir, died on Dec. 24 in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y., a village in Westchester County. His wife, the former “Today” show host Meredith Vieira, said his death, in a hospital, was caused by acute respiratory failure. Mr. Cohen spent more than 20 years in the news business, working with luminaries like Ted Koppel at ABC and Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather at CBS. Mr. Cohen was diagnosed with M.S. in 1973, when he was 25 and helping to create a documentary for PBS about the politics of disability.

Aaron Brown, a veteran television news anchor whose steady hand helped guide CNN viewers through the unfolding tragedy of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks has died. On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, Brown started his career at the network earlier than expected, anchoring from a Manhattan rooftop as the attacks were happening. CNN —Aaron Brown, the renowned CNN anchor who gained prominence for his coverage of the September 11 attacks and his role in shaping the network’s evening news format, died Sunday at the age of 76, his family said. “In the pre-talk era of broadcast journalism, Aaron was first and foremost a writer and a craftsman. That was one of his many skills that earned the respect of his colleagues across the media landscape,” said former CNN producer Jon Auerbach, who worked with Brown. “He had a biting sense of humor, and in the days before people spoke of a work-life balance, Aaron knew its value. David Fitzpatrick, a producer who worked closely with Brown at CNN, said he “always wanted the very best of people.”“It was remarkable when we received a compliment from him,” Fitzpatrick said.

Universal Pictures, the studio behind the hit film, announced on Thursday that “Wicked” will be available to buy or rent on December 31 on digital streaming platforms including Prime Video and Apple TV. The streaming release will also include a plethora of bonus content, including a sing-along version of the film, behind-the-scenes featurettes, commentary from director Jon M.
