Investors looking for a little extra yield from corporate bonds should consider adding exposure to Europe instead of the U.S., according to BlackRock. However, the bond market in Europe seems to be in good shape despite that, said Amanda Lynam, head of macro credit research. "European credit has held in remarkably well both relative to the U.S. but also, within European credit, high yield has outperformed [investment grade]. There are some "structural tailwinds" in the European debt market, Lynam said. Investors could also look for active funds where the managers share BlackRock's view and are adding exposure to European debt.

REUTERS/Kacper Pempel/Illustration/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsOTTAWA, Aug 28 (Reuters) - Organized cybercrime is set to pose a threat to Canada's national security and economic prosperity over the next two years, the national signal intelligence agency said on Monday. Cyber criminals continue to show resilience and an ability to innovate their business model, it said. "Organized cybercrime will very likely pose a threat to Canada's national security and economic prosperity over the next two years," said CSE, which is the Canadian equivalent of the U.S. National Security Agency. But Chris Lynam, director general of Canada's National Cybercrime Coordination Centre, said very few crimes were reported and the real amount stolen last year could easily be C$5 billion or more. Tehran likely tolerates cybercrime activities by Iran-based cyber criminals that align with the state's strategic and ideological interests, it added.

Traders work on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in New York City, U.S., August 15, 2023. The simplest conclusion is the Fed will not be able to ease again in anything like the way many had assumed or still think. This will lift the 'term premium' embedded in long-term bond yields, which has been so subdued since Fed balance sheet expansion met the crash of 2008, even if the Fed is done tightening policy rates, he said. Fed policy is more neutral than restrictive "if you believe we've returned to a pre-2008 world", he said, and that limits the scope for rate cuts in future.
