Notes left by the Green Beret who blew up a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel this week in Las Vegas suggested he had taken his own life as a “wake-up call” to the country, the authorities said on Friday.
Matthew Alan Livelsberger, contained notes that said the country was “headed toward collapse,” the police said in a news briefing on Friday afternoon.
Sergeant Livelsberger fatally shot himself inside the Tesla on Wednesday as the explosives packed into the vehicle ignited and engulfed it in flames.
The police said Sergeant Livelsberger, a veteran of several combat tours, had post-traumatic stress disorder.
What better way to get my point across than a stunt with fireworks and explosives?”
