"I think a lot of people are fleeing Twitter, a lot of thoughtful and serious people are fleeing Twitter," Wales told CNBC at the Web Summit tech conference in Lisbon. "Twitter was, and now I guess X sort of is, in a way, the default public square for the world. Wales' comments come after Musk offered Wikipedia $1 billion if it changes its name to "Dickipedia." The spat between the two goes back to last year when Musk alleged Wikipedia has "a non-trivial left-wing bias."

Kaitlin Wichmann is an American expat living and working in Lisbon, Portugal. She said the country's focus on work-life balance has been a positive change from the US. When I lived in the US, most of my coworkers didn't even take lunch or if we did it was a working lunch. When I'm interviewing with a potential client or agency, I'm always upfront about living in Lisbon and working Portuguese hours. Obviously, it's easier for me because I'm self-employed — a lot of my friends work for American companies and it's much harder to do.

LISBON — Veteran Brazilian surfer Marcio Freire died on Thursday while practicing tow-in surfing on the giant waves in Nazaré on the central coast of Portugal, the local maritime authority said. Freire was one of the three Brazilian surfers who became known as the “Mad Dogs” after conquering the giant wave “Jaws” in Hawaii. Legend,” posted fellow big wave surfer Nic von Rupp. American Garrett McNamara put Nazaré on the map in 2011 when he set a world record for the biggest wave ever surfed at 78 feet. Brazilian Rodrigo Koxa bettered McNamara’s mark in 2017, also at Nazaré, and German Sebastian Steudtner broke the record again there in 2020, surfing an 86-foot wave.
