Jaime Bennington, the son of late Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington, has criticized the band’s decision to bring in Emily Armstrong as their new vocalist. Armstrong, who co-founded the rock band Dead Sara, made her Linkin Park debut in a live performance Sept. 5 alongside new drummer Colin Brittain. Mars Volta singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala and his wife Chrissie Carnell-Bixler, one of several women who accused Masterson of sexual assault, also spoke out against Armstrong. Shinoda addressed concerns during a Discord conversation, expressing his understanding of the public shock and outrage while urging for respectful discussion. Armstrong issued a statement of her own on Sept. 6, telling fans that she “wanted to clear the air” about supporting Masterson.

London CNN —The estate of Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor has called on Donald Trump to stop using one of her songs during campaign events, the latest in a string of similar requests from artists who have decided they don’t want to be associated with the former US president. “It was with outrage therefore that we learned that Donald Trump has been using her iconic performance of Nothing Compares 2 U at his political rallies,” it continues. “As the guardians of her legacy, we demand that Donald Trump, and his associates desist from using her music immediately,” it concluded. 1 in 1990, buoyed by a music video that featured O’Connor, with close-cropped hair and a dark turtleneck. In 2020, the Rolling Stones threatened legal action against Trump’s campaign for using their music at his campaign rallies, and Tom Petty’s family issued a cease-and-desist notice to the Trump campaign after “I Won’t Back Down” was played at a rally.

There is no evidence that oil tycoon John D. Rockefeller’s late grandson Laurance Rockefeller, White House adviser John Podesta and late Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington are directly related, contrary to rumors on social media. An image circulating online, which shows black-and-white photographs of the three men, reads: “This is Laurence (sic) Rockefeller, his son pedophile John Podesta, and his son, Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington. Reuters found no evidence that Rockefeller, Podesta and Bennington are related. The Linkin Park frontman died by suicide in July 2017 (here), (here). There is no evidence Laurance Rockefeller, John Podesta and Chester Bennington are related.
