Brady’s purchase, which the Associated Press reports is for a 5% ownership stake in the franchise, was approved Tuesday at a meeting of NFL owners in Atlanta. “I’m incredibly humbled and excited to have been unanimously approved as an owner of the Las Vegas Raiders,” Brady said in a post on social media. The purchase agreement with the Raiders is the second partnership between Brady and Raiders owner Mark Davis. CNN —The Las Vegas Aces’ quest for a three-peat is close to an end as they went down 88-84 against the New York Liberty in Game 2 of the WNBA semifinals. The win gave the Liberty a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series with Sabrina Ionescu scoring a joint game-high 24 points to put the Aces on the brink. For the Aces, a disappointing second quarter, in which they were outscored 24-13, saw their early lead slip away, and they had given up 20 points off turnovers by the half. “Let me be mad at the refs, let me be mad at the New York Liberty, I don’t want to be mad at ourselves,” head coach Becky Hammon told reporters. The Women's National Basketball Association's viewership and attendance boomed during the 2024 season, as the league's popularity soared due to young stars like Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. The league's games drew more than 54 million unique viewers, an all-time record, across various networks including Disney 's ABC and ESPN, Paramount Global' s CBS, E.W. Scripps' Ion and NBA TV, among others, according to data the WNBA released on Friday. In addition, WNBA game attendance hit its highest level in 22 years, and grew almost 50% from the 2023 season, according to the league.
