Pennsylvania officials said Friday they are investigating as many as 2,500 fraudulent voter registration applications in Lancaster County that election workers flagged during routine reviews of the forms. She added that at least two other counties may have received fraudulent registration applications, too. Election officials notified law enforcement authorities of the issues they discovered while reviewing the voter registration forms and a wide-scale investigation was launched, prompting police to reach out to voters whose information was listed on the forms. After undergoing extensive review of registration applications, at least 60% of the forms that have been investigated so far have been determined to be fraudulent so far, Adams said. “I want to stress this, no eligible voter will be turned away.”The forms were all dropped off at or near the voter registration deadline, which was Oct. 21 in Pennsylvania, a key battleground state.

A 27-year-old Nebraska man who posed as someone a decade younger and attended high school for more than 50 days was sentenced to at least 85 years in prison in connection with sex crimes charges, court documents show. Scheich identified himself as “Zak Hess,” 17, and attended two high schools in Lincoln — Northwest High School and Southeast High School — for 54 days in the 2022-23 school year, officials previously said. A spokesperson for the district where Scheich attended high school also did not respond to a request for comment Wednesday. Charging documents show the crimes he pleaded guilty to mostly occurred in 2022 and 2023. In September, authorities accused a 23-year-old woman of criminal impersonation after she allegedly posed as Scheich’s mother and helped him get enrolled in the schools, according to KOLN.

Donna Osborne, 75, told Pennsylvania Lottery officials that she was at an airport with her daughter to visit family in Florida when their flight got delayed, according to a Pennsylvania Lottery news release. “It was delayed so many times, I decided to go home,” said Osborne, according to the release. At least one tornado struck parts of Nebraska on Friday afternoon, leading to the collapse of an industrial building, injuring at least three people and prompting a widespread emergency response, officials said, a day after tornadoes battered other parts of the Midwest. CNN —A grandfather who was officiating a wedding in Nebraska is facing charges after accidentally shooting his 12-year-old grandson during the ceremony, officials said. Gardner “decided to gain everybody’s attention and start the wedding with a bang,” Houchin said during a news conference Monday. “When he decided to cock back the hammer of this revolver, it slipped and it shot his grandson into the left shoulder causing an injury,” Houchin said. The 45 COLT ammunition was a blank, but Gardener “put black powder into the casing and then glued it,” the chief deputy added. The boy’s injuries were non-life-threatening, and he was taken to a local hospital before being transferred to Omaha for further treatment, Houchin said.

CNN —A suspected drunken driver accidentally called Nebraska law enforcement on himself, leading to his arrest. The man called 911 to report another driver who he thought was driving on the wrong side of the highway, according to a Facebook post from the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office on Thursday released a video of the March incident along with audio from the driver’s 911 call. The driver had a blood alcohol content over twice the legal limit, according to the sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from CNN.
