A defamation case against Kari Lake brought by Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer has been settled, representatives for both parties confirmed Sunday to NBC News. Richer, a Republican, filed a claim in June 2023 saying that Lake falsely accused him of "intentionally sabotaging the election" after she lost the 2022 Arizona governor's race. Richer sought nominal, compensatory and punitive damages in unspecified amounts. "We are pleased" the case has been settled, Lake’s lawyer Dennis Wilenchik said, noting that the settlement's terms "are confidential." After the election, Lake falsely accused Richer of having "sabotaged" Election Day.

Rescuers in Yellowstone National Park searched the area of Eagle Peak on Sunday in an effort to find a park concession worker who failed to check in at the end of a personal trip, authorities said. The mountain rises 11,358 feet above sea level and is Yellowstone National Park's highest location, according to the service. The Tuesday phone call was the last anyone heard from King, the park service said. In the last three days, temperatures in Yellowstone National Park have bottomed out in the high 20s and struggled to break the 60-degree mark, according to National Weather Service data. The park service said King is 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, has hazel eyes and was wearing glasses, a black sweatshirt and gray pants.

Justin Timberlake entered a guilty plea Friday in connection to his DWI case. Timberlake arrived in the morning at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Courthouse in Long Island, New York, alongside his attorney Edward Burke Jr.As part of a deal struck with the court, Timberlake pleaded guilty to a noncriminal traffic violation of driving while impaired. “I’d be willing to,” Timberlake responded, agreeing to 25 to 40 hours of community service. Following the hearing, Timberlake spoke outside the courthouse and told reporters, that he tries to hold himself “to a very high standard.”“This was not that. CNN —Justin Timberlake is expected to plead guilty to one count of driving while impaired in a deal with Suffolk County, New York prosecutors, who agreed to drop a driving while intoxicated charge against the singer, according to a source familiar with the case. The plea will include a to-be-determined fine, though the judge in the case could impose other penalties and still needs to approve the agreement at a hearing scheduled Friday morning, where Timberlake is anticipated to be in attendance. Before the agreement, Timberlake had pleaded not guilty to the DWI charge, a misdemeanor, back in August. Had he been convicted, he could have faced a maximum of one year in prison and a $2500 fine. Justin Timberlake was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York in June.

Timberlake will appear at a hearing this Friday, marking the singer’s first return to the Hamptons enclave since his arrest.
