Interest in so-called “golden visas” has skyrocketed among US citizens since the election, according to consultants that help the wealthy migrate. Golden visas allow people to effectively buy foreign citizenship or residence through sizable investments, including in real estate, government bonds or startups. LGBT voters shifted even more solidly into the Democratic camp this year, according to the NBC News Exit Poll. Harris led President-elect Trump 86% to 12% among LGBT voters, the poll found. As in previous elections, LGBT voters stood out as one of the most left-leaning voter blocs in the electorate. Among LGBT voters, Democrats vastly outnumber Republicans, 56% to 5%, and liberals surpass conservatives, 61% to 5%. LGBT voters are staunchly pro-choice: 59% say abortion should be legal in all cases, a much higher level of support for abortion rights than among non-LGBTs, at 31%.

Actress Chloë Grace Moretz came out as a gay woman in an Instagram post on Friday that also served has an endorsement for Vice President Kamala Harris. "I voted early and I voted for Kamala Harris," the actress wrote in the caption of an Instagram post showcasing an "I voted early 2024" sticker on her jeans. Moretz, 27, then said she believes in the necessity for legal protections for the LGBTQ+ community "as a gay woman." Of the 393,041 adults age 51 on average, about 10% belonged to sexual or gender minority groups. CNN —Tennis legend Serena Williams took a shot at Kansas City Chiefs player Harrison Butker while hosting the ESPY Awards on Thursday, referencing controversial comments made by the kicker earlier this year. Presenting the event with her sister and fellow tennis icon Venus Williams and Abbott Elementary actress Quinta Brunson, the 23-time grand slam champion delivered a dig at Butker during a segment about women’s sports. “So go ahead and enjoy women’s sports like you would any other sports because they are sports,” Venus said to wrap up the segment. Williams’ remark at the ESPYs was made in response to a speech that Butker made in May to 485 graduates at Benedictine College, a small Catholic school in Atchison, Kansas. Reuters —The daughter of Cameroon’s president said she hoped that by coming out as a lesbian she can help change laws that ban homosexuality in the country. Brenda Biya, who lives between the United States and Switzerland, came out in an Instagram post on June 30. Her father, Paul Biya, 91, who has led Cameroon for four decades, has not publicly commented on the matter. Brenda Biya said the law punishing gay sex existed before her father came into power in 1982, and she hopes her story will lead to change in the legislation. “However, it highlights a harsh reality: anti-LGBT laws in Cameroon disproportionately target the poor,” she said.
