Chapter members were told of the suspension on Oct. 24, the group said, nearly a week after their Oct. 18 protest. Brown Divest Coalition first led a series of protests in April calling for the university’s governing board to divest. While university officials did review a student proposal outlining why the board should divest from 10 companies, it ultimately decided not to do so. A college student allegedly scratched a racial slur onto another student's body at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania, officials said Thursday. According to the Gettysburgian, the college's student newspaper, at least two members of the swim team have been suspended following the attack. The college added that upperclassmen students from the swim team were the first to report the incident to the school. One student told WGAL that he was "disgusted" by the news of the attack.
