Harvey Keitel Photo: Criterion CollectionLike fireworks against a night sky, emotion blazes through “Mean Streets” (1973), Martin Scorsese’s explosively personal third feature.
It opens with a voiceover and a dark screen, followed by Charlie ( Harvey Keitel ) waking in his bedroom to sounds from the street, before the Ronettes sing “Be My Baby” on the soundtrack.
