‘Mutt’ (2023)Stream it on Netflix. Vuk Lungulov-Klotz’s micro-budget New York drama is everything indie movies are supposed to be: keenly observed and modestly executed, telling us a story and showing us a world we don’t usually see in mainstream cinema. In this case, it’s the world of Feña (Lío Mehiel), a transgender man and a semi-desperate pseudo-hustler whose life goes momentarily topsy-turvy when he accidentally reconnects with a former boyfriend from before his transition. This is a small film, but a mighty one. ‘Unpregnant’ (2020)Stream it on Max.

The end of workplace loyalty

Do that, and you generate the kind of trust and loyalty that leads to high productivity and low turnover. A world in which the psychological contract is profoundly broken. In the three decades following World War II, as Rick Wartzman documents in his book " The End of Loyalty ," a booming economy made American companies rich. Today, disillusioned workers might assume that the norm of workplace loyalty was nothing but a capitalistic ruse, a way for companies to exploit their employees. But the new loyalty would recognize that employees have to uphold their end of the bargain.

If you're not sure how much to care about work, or what it means to you, you're not alone. Work blurred into life, and life blurred into work, suddenly making my personal errands the same as work. In the wake of our existential reckoning with work, some office workers flipped the script, making life their full-time job and work a part-time pursuit. Lazy girl jobs and a window of opportunityRight now, we're in the "uncomfortable" middle of work, as Klotz calls it. The opportunity to job hop may be dwindling, but that doesn't mean work has to settle into 2019 norms.

People just don't want to be led astray or lied to," says Kelly, 28, the CEO and founder of fitness content startup Curastory. Tiffany Kelly, CEO and founder of fitness content startup Curastory. Cramer has dealt with a huge number of pitch decks in her time as an entrepreneur and VC. She has shared on LinkedIn her top tips for creating a successful pitch deck. "If you want to build a brand, your pitch deck needs to highlight that brand. If you want to build a tool, you need a pitch deck that shows mock-ups of the product," Cramer wrote. It allows senders much more control over who reads their pitch deck — and who can forward it.
As a result, more people are breaking out of the 40-hour workweek. "People have a much lower tolerance for this, and are less afraid to say, 'We don't want to waste our time.'" "Like, if you're making me come to the office or attend an on-site meeting, it better be good." Time is moneyRising inflation and the overall increased cost of living have made the monetary value of people's time even more salient. In fact, 73% of U.S. workers plan to freelance this year, according to Fiverr, which polled 2,000 workers in December 2022.
The "great resignation" will soon grind to a halt. Klotz coined the "great resignation" in May 2021 to describe the sudden wave of people quitting their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which led many to re-think where, how and why we work. Companies are improving employee retentionTo attract talent in a perennially tight labor market, many employers have introduced flexible work arrangements, increased wages or revamped their benefits. The ripple effects of the "great resignation" prompted more companies to prioritize existing employees' well-being, whether it's through enhanced mental health resources or transitioning to a permanent hybrid model. In 2023, Klotz says he expects employers to double down on their efforts to attract and retain talent.

A Fox News weatherman who was on his way home from a bar early Sunday was assaulted by a group of teenagers on a New York City subway, police said. Four teens beat Adam Klotz, 37, after he asked them to stop smoking marijuana and to stop harassing an elderly passenger, New York City police said. After he was first attacked, Klotz said, he tried to evade the group by going to another subway car. Klotz criticized Mayor Eric Adams, saying the city does not adequately address subway violence. "Why is the weather guy on the train trying to stop crime in the middle of the night?"
The Sundance Film Festival has long been known for premiering some of the most original — and ultimately the most award-winning — indie titles of the year. As the most notable international film festivals increasingly feature queer titles in their lineups, it’s no surprise that much of the exciting content premiering at this year’s Sundance Film Festival comes from LGBTQ filmmakers or features queer themes. The Premieres sectionAs usual, many of the year’s most high-profile films, including those from queer creators and featuring queer storylines, are coming out of the festival’s Premieres section. Courtesy of Sundance InstituteEnglert’s film will screen in the world cinema dramatic section alongside queer films “Girl,” from U.K. filmmaker Adura Onashile, and “Mamacruz,” from Spanish director Patricia Ortega. The list of LGBTQ creators and titles doesn’t end there, making this perhaps the most significant Sundance Film Festival for queer cinema yet.

Dr. Klotz: Companies invest in employees, and employees tend to match that investment. When employees feel that companies are underinvesting in them, they start disengaging from work or they engage in deviant behavior. If it feels like you can’t trust workers, then you micromanage them. But most companies can withstand that, and the benefits of building trust with their workers outweigh the occasional bad apple.

"I'm not sure that work is any more dysfunctional now for many workers than it's been in the past," she tells CNBC Make It. Work has always been dysfunctional, our tolerance for it just got lowerWorkers are still quitting in droves during the Great Resignation. The discord we're seeing, then, is vocal pushback from employees — emboldened by a tight market and, yes, social media fervor — not wanting to return to traditional models of work, Klotz says. "Everyone is making money off of their work, and they're not getting return on the investment of their labor. To call that out and say, you know what, I don't necessarily need to go above and beyond if that effort isn't going to be valued — that's not quiet quitting.

Generation Z has already produced many founders, but it's still underrepresented in venture capital, Lawrence said in an interview with Insider.
