The Supreme Court may soon consider two cases that could dismantle limits on how close protesters can be to people at abortion clinics and other health care facilities. Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, three abortion clinics have opened in Carbondale. “You can’t have protests on the steps of the Supreme Court,” he said. Neither petition has been scheduled to be discussed by the Supreme Court justices. Panera Bread has settled with the family of an Ivy League student with a heart condition who died after drinking the chain’s highly caffeinated Charged Lemonade drink. The suit said that Katz bought a Charged Lemonade from a Panera restaurant in September 2022. A second lawsuit blamed it for a Florida man’s death while the other two alleged that the Charged Lemonade caused permanent heart injuries in previously healthy people. The complaint said the Charged Lemonade also had guarana extract, another stimulant, as well as the equivalent of nearly 30 teaspoons of sugar in the large size. It also added prominent signs cautioning that Charged Lemonade contained caffeine, should be consumed in moderation and was not recommended for children, people sensitive to caffeine, pregnant or nursing women.

The auto services industry was among those most likely to show a preference for résumés containing white-sounding names. But in the most extreme instances, those doing the hiring favored résumés that might be presumed to be from white candidates by 24%, on average. Already, some people in fields like tech who have seen cuts in recent years are applying to job after job with little luck.
