Six months before Kim Kearns quit drinking, she cracked open a book called, “We Are the Luckiest: The Surprising Magic of a Sober Life,” by Laura McKowen.
Ms. Kearns, co-host of “The Weekend Sober” podcast, credits the book with helping her quit.

We asked more than a dozen addiction experts, sobriety counselors, podcasters and people in recovery to share the books they found most helpful.
