Gen Alpha is poised to be the most online generation, with AI and other inevitable advancements in technology and social media. I loved the phone, but using it for a week also made me realize how complicated excessive social media use is to solve. AdvertisementIt all reminded me of a conversation I had earlier this year with an ex-digital brand strategist about reducing social media use. I'd see memes from friends who forgot to text my Gabb phone and would get sucked right back into social media. Plus, the only reason I have social media boundaries at all is because I grew up being encouraged to have hobbies.

This is known as child-focused parenting, a style devised in the 90s that has become the norm in the last decade. Gaskins isn't the only psychology professional against child-focused parenting. Ironically, child-focused parenting teaches kids that it's normal to forego your identity and boundaries. A kids' bank account is a type of joint bank account where an adult and a minor both have access. Types of bank accounts for minorsThere are two primary joint bank account options: kids' savings accounts and teens' checking accounts. Depending on where you bank, you may need to open a traditional savings account or a specialized bank account tailored to children. A custodial bank account is not the same as a traditional kids' bank account. Some national banks permit online applications when opening a bank account on behalf of a minor, but many require opening a minor's first bank account at a physical branch.

For my book "Raising an Entrepreneur," I interviewed 70 parents who raised highly successful adults about how they helped their kids achieve their dreams. Here are the four things that the parents of the most successful people always did when their kids were young:1. Although many of the parents didn't understand their kid's passion, they supported them, because they saw the joy their child got from it. The most successful adults grew up knowing that their parents would always be there for them, no matter what they tackled. As their children grew more capable, the parents also resisted the temptation to do or fix things for them.
