JERUSALEM — Three Israelis were killed on Monday and several injured in a shooting attack on a car and bus near the town of Kedumim in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, Israel’s national ambulance service Magen David Adom (MDA) said. Israeli Army Radio said the military had imposed a cordon around all villages in the area to search for the suspects, who it believes fled to a nearby Palestinian village. There was no immediate comment from the Palestinian authorities in the West Bank. Violence in the West Bank has been spiraling, with hundreds of Palestinians and dozens of Israelis killed since the Oct. 7, 2023 attack by Hamas militants on southern Israel triggered the war in Gaza. Hundreds of thousands of Israelis have settled in the West Bank since Israel captured the territory in a 1967 war.

CNN —Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Monday to “settle accounts” after gunmen killed three Israeli settlers and injured eight other people in a shooting attack on two cars and a bus in the occupied West Bank. The vehicles were targeted on Route 55 in Al-Funduq, a Palestinian village in the West Bank, according to Israeli authorities. The road, which snakes through the northern West Bank, passes through the Jewish settlement of Kedumim. No one will get away.”Netanyahu is expected to hold a cabinet meeting on the West Bank tomorrow. This isn’t the first time in recent months that this part of the West Bank has experienced intercommunal violence.

CNN —At least four Palestinians were killed during an Israeli military raid in the old city of Nablus in the West Bank in the early hours of Tuesday, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. “The (Israeli) troops responded with live fire toward the armed suspects who were shooting at them,” the statement said. Official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Israeli forces stormed several neighborhoods in Nablus, “where the sounds of shooting and explosions were heard and columns of smoke and flames were seen emanating from several neighborhoods,” followed by fierce clashes between residents and Israeli military forces.
