An American woman is accused of fatally stabbing a man at a train station in southwest Germany, over 60 miles south of Frankfurt.
In a statement on Monday, the Kaiserslautern Public Prosecutor’s Office said the incident took place at the Kaiserslautern Central Station on the afternoon of June 29.
The woman followed the man, who grabbed the arm she was using to wield the knife, according to the prosecutor's office.
The American woman said that she acted in self-defense and did not aim for the man’s heart, the prosecutor's office said.
The prosecutor's office brought the charge against the woman to Kaiserslautern Regional Court, which will decide how to proceed.
