U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak (left), leader of the incumbent Conservatives, and opposition leader Sir Keir Starmer of the Labour Party.
The politicians traded barbs in their first head-to-head debate on Tuesday ahead of the July 4 General Election.
"I'm clear that I'm going to keep cutting people's taxes as we now are ... Mark my words, Labour will raise your taxes, it's in their DNA.
You name it, Labour will tax it," Sunak said.
Labour leader Keir Starmer said the £2,000 calculation was "based on made-up Labour policies."
