Yet, despite reaching the pinnacle of the culinary world, Mr. Anh was not a household name in the country.
“Culinary Class Wars” feels like “Iron Chef” meets “Survivor.” It manufactures a class struggle, pitting renowned chefs against undiscovered talents like a school cafeteria cook.
But the breakout star was Mr. Anh, 42, and now he is everywhere.
It has been a remarkable homecoming for Mr. Anh, who emigrated with his family to America as a teenager almost three decades ago.
