MIAMI (AP) — A Florida man and his three adult sons were sentenced Friday for selling a toxic industrial bleach as a fake COVID-19 cure through their online church. A Miami federal judge ordered the church to stop selling the substance in 2020, but that was ignored. In an interview with federal prosecutors in 2021, Grenon admitted that the church was a way of dodging legal repercussions for selling the bleach. Mark and Joseph Grenon were arrested in Colombia in 2020, and extradited to the US to face criminal charges. Joseph Grenon told the outlet that they will be appealing the conviction.
