Stock futures and Treasury bonds recovered some ground, but major indexes were still on track for the worst quarterly performance in a year.
Stocks have come under pressure from the bond selloff, which propelled the 10-year Treasury yield to the highest level since 2007 earlier this week.
The S&P 500 is down 3.3% this quarter and the Dow has lost over 2%.
Treasury notes recovered some ground.
The benchmark 10-year Treasury yield extended its retreat into a second day, as did the U.S. dollar.
