One Facebook user uploaded the footage (here) alongside the caption: “Pope St. John Paul's body was exhumed yesterday after 12 years. However, the video is at least 12 years old and it does not show Pope John Paul II’s real body. It is titled Reliquias del Papa Juan Pablo II (Relics of Pope John Paul II), while the description adds that it was recorded at a school. Although Pope John Paul II’s remains were exhumed in April 2011 (here), they were not moved from Italy to Mexico. The video shows a wax figure of Pope John Paul II being displayed 12 years ago.

Unlike most priests, Benedict logged little time in parishes. In 2005, his first year as pope, he was accused in a lawsuit of having personally covered up a priest's abuse of three boys in Texas.

FUNERALBenedict's funeral will be held on Thursday, Jan. 5 in St. Peter's Square, in front of the basilica. The ceremony will start at 9:30 a.m. (0830 GMT) and will be presided over by Pope Francis. Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said that following the wishes of Benedict, the funeral would be simple, solemn and sober.
