Well now, some of those laid-off employees are having trouble keeping up with demand from recruiters — and some say they've received reachouts from more than 70 companies. Laid-off Snap employees describe "overwhelming" recruiter outreach. After the company laid off a staggering 20% of its staff, some former workers' inboxes are filled with messages from Facebook, Netflix, and TikTok recruiters. Jess Lee, a Sequoia partner, shared tips for founders hoping to be selected for next year. The firm's first US Arc class is beginning its second week of a seven-week intensive course to help founders hone their startup business plans. It isn't enough to just have a great business idea, Lee said — the idea has to be in a market where there is the possibility of huge disruption and growth. "It's not easy to start a company," Lee said. "At seed and preseed it is so much about the story of who you are and why you had this insight," Lee said.
