The leaks, first reported on Monday, were in international waters but inside Denmark's and Sweden's exclusive economic zone. The Danish military captured footage on Tuesday of natural gas swirling at the sea's surface, and published photographs of the massive spill. After Russia's late-February full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Moscow suspended gas flow through the newer Nord Stream 2, which wasn't yet operational. More recently, it has stopped gas flow through what was previously a fully operational Nord Stream 1.

Danemarca limitează călătoriile din toate țările pentru a încerca să controleze răspândirea noii versiuni COVID-19Danemarca a anunțat că va restricționa toate călătoriile începând cu 9 ianuarie și a recomandat tuturor să nu călătorească în această perioadă pentru a limita răspândirea coronavirusului, în special a noilor mutații găsite în Marea Britanie și Africa de Sud. Decizia vine ca urmare a noilor restricții naționale impuse săptămâna aceasta, relatează Reuters. Ministrul de externe Jeppe Kofod a declarat că măsurile ce limitează călătoriile sunt o consecință logică a măsurilor naționale luate. Autoritățile daneze mai spus că nu au găsit deocamdată vreo urmă a noii mutații a virusului, dar că estimează că versiunea britanică va fi deja dominantă în Danemarca până la mijlocul lunii februarie. Începând cu vineri, intrarea în Danemarca va fi limitată la oamenii cu motive credibile și cu o probă negativă la testul COVID-19, care trebuie să aibă o valabilitate de până la 24 de ore.Noile restricții de călătorii rămân în vigoare până pe 17 ianuarie.

Declarația a fost făcută de Serghei Lavrov, şeful diplomaţiei ruse, în contextul unor posibile sancţiuni europene împotriva Moscovei după otrăvirea opozantului Aleksei Navalnîi. Lavrov a mai spus că Germania îşi încalcă obligaţiile internaţionale prin faptul că nu transmite informaţiile respective. Moscova a negat în mod repetat orice implicare în cazul de otrăvire a lui Aleksei Navalnîi. La rândul său, opozantul l-a acuzat pe președintele rus Vladimir Putin că se află în spatele atacului, însă acuzația respectivă a fost respinsă de Kremlin.
