A refuge for first responders and cleanup crews weary after long days rescuing storm victims or clearing wreckage left by Hurricane Milton. But Milton showed no mercy during its deadly rampage across Florida, shredding the roof of Tropicana Field – a Major League Baseball stadium turned makeshift shelter for storm personnel. Drone footage above Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg shows the dome's shredded roof and cots for first responders. “And you could see it just had no chance against those winds of Hurricane Milton.”Hurricane Milton ripped off much of the roof of Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays. A woman in Michigan was charged with second-degree murder after driving her vehicle into a building where a birthday party was taking place on Saturday, killing two children and injuring 15 other people, prosecutors announced on Tuesday. The woman, Marshella Marie Chidester, 66, was also charged with two counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, causing death, and four counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, causing serious injury, Jeffery A. Yorkey, the Monroe County prosecuting attorney, said. She was given a $1.5 million bond. Bill Colovos, an attorney for Ms. Chidester, who appeared before District Court Judge Christian J. Horkey, said in court that Ms. Chidester did not have any previous traffic citations and that she had a history of seizures since November, saying that she experienced an “epileptic-type seizure in her legs.” The court entered a plea of not guilty for Ms. Chidester. Prosecutors said Ms. Chidester was intoxicated on Saturday when she drove her vehicle into a wall of the Swan Boat Club in Berlin Township, Mich., where the birthday party was taking place, killing the children and injuring 15 other people.

Editor's note: The following article contains graphic photos of dead bodies. In the predawn hours of Feb. 24, the long-feared Russian invasion of Ukraine began. The now yearlong war has become the largest air, sea and ground assault in Europe since World War II. More than 8 million people have left the war-weary country since the invasion, in what has become the greatest exodus of refugees that Europe has witnessed since World War II. Over the past year, Western weapons have poured into Ukraine in one of the world's largest arms transfers, and allies have imposed rounds of coordinated international sanctions against Russia.
For now, it's a quarter point [hike]. In the futures market, traders were betting on an end rate, or terminal rate near 5%. The market is pricing in a 25 basis point hike for March. A basis point equals 0.01 of a percentage point. But Jeffery said the futures market is now pricing in more of a chance for a quarter point hike in May as well.
The Clarkston Founders Institutional Fund has always tried to avoid volatility. The Founder's Fund has lost about 2.8% in 2022, notably outperforming other mid-cap value funds, which are down an average 7.2%, and a Morningstar benchmark index, which is lower by 5.6%, all through Dec. 9. As a result, the $610-million fund has a below average beta — a measurement of volatility relative to the broad market — of 0.85, according to Morningstar, versus 1.08 for all mid-cap value funds. The fund ranks in the 15th percentile of all mid-cap value funds in 2022, and is in the 23rd percentile over the past five years. Clarkston's investment policy emphasizes what it calls "quality value" stocks, regarded as high quality and considered undervalued relative to their long-term cash flows.
