A jury ordered former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger to pay $98 million after finding that she used excessive force in the fatal shooting of Botham Jean in his home six years ago. The jury found that Guyger acted with "malice, willfulness, or callous and reckless indifference" to Jean's safety and rights and awarded his family $60 million in punitive damages, a verdict form shows. The jury awarded an additional $38 million in compensatory damages for mental anguish, loss of earnings and other claims, the document shows. It's also the 14th least-visited country in the world and the least-visited in Asia, according to a January report from CEOWorld magazine. That long string of numbers now attached to our Instagram profile, however, is not. One bit of beef I have with the app, however, has its roots in how it's affected my Instagram account. Call me shallow, but that super long @ that's been added to my Instagram profile, right under my username? That said, this feels like a small quibble in the big scheme of things — the new Threads app is fun. And for now, I prefer it to a social media app that's prone to crashing, with an owner who's seen fit to impose a rate limit on how many tweets can be viewed.
