CNN —Despite throwing a career-high five interceptions, Jared Goff led the Detroit Lions to a come-from-behind 26-23 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football at NRG Stadium. The Lions trailed 23-7 heading into halftime after Goff threw three interceptions in the first half. Goff threw a career-high five interceptions in the Lions' win. Goff threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns while running back Jahmyr Gibbs added 71 yards on the ground. The Lions host the Jacksonville Jaguars next week while the Texans head to Dallas to take on the Cowboys on Monday Night Football.

In a turnover-heavy game riddled with interceptions, the Detroit Lions overcame a slow start to win a wild “Sunday Night Football” contest. With four seconds remaining in regulation, Jake Bates kicked a 52-yard field goal to lift the Lions past the Houston Texans 26-23 at NRG Stadium. DETROIT (AP) — Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson has decided to stay with the team and turn down potential opportunities to be an NFL head coach next season, leading the Washington Commanders and Seattle Seahawks to turn to other candidates. Two people familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on Tuesday that Johnson informed teams he would not be leaving the Lions. One of the people familiar with the situation said the Washington brass is still meeting with Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn. Their 34-31 loss to San Francisco on Sunday paved the way for teams to hire Johnson or Glenn. It’s unclear if they’ll pivot to former Tennessee coach Mike Vrabel, their own offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy or someone else after missing out on the opportunity to hire Johnson.
