CNN —Despite throwing a career-high five interceptions, Jared Goff led the Detroit Lions to a come-from-behind 26-23 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football at NRG Stadium. The Lions trailed 23-7 heading into halftime after Goff threw three interceptions in the first half. Goff threw a career-high five interceptions in the Lions' win. Goff threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns while running back Jahmyr Gibbs added 71 yards on the ground. The Lions host the Jacksonville Jaguars next week while the Texans head to Dallas to take on the Cowboys on Monday Night Football.

The Dallas Cowboys were walloped at home Sunday, getting blown out to the tune of 47-9 by the Detroit Lions — the Cowboys’ fourth straight loss at home dating to last postseason. The Lions had a 27-6 lead after two quarters — continuing a disturbing trend for the Cowboys. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott struggled, throwing for only 178 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions before he was pulled in the fourth quarter. The loss dropped the Cowboys to third place in the NFC East, behind the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders. After the game, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked if he was contemplating a coaching change.

But the season will end with Wilks calling plays in the Super Bowl with the task of slowing down Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Wilks then joined the Niners staff, while the Panthers had a 2-15 season and fired coach Frank Reich after 11 games. Wilks is now headed to his third Super Bowl as an assistant coach, having lost previous trips in the 2006 season with Chicago and the 2015 season with Carolina when he was a defensive backs coach. DETROIT (AP) — Jared Goff threw two touchdown passes and the Detroit Lions beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-23 in a divisional-round playoff game on Sunday, lifting the long-suffering franchise into the NFC championship for the first time in 32 years and just the second time in franchise history. The Lions (14-5) won two playoff games in a season for the first time since 1957, the last year they won the NFL title. They will play at San Francisco, the NFC's top seed, next Sunday for a spot in the Super Bowl — a game they have never played in. Baker Mayfield threw three TD passes for Tampa Bay (10-9), including a 16-yard toss to Mike Evans that got the Bucs within one score with 4:37 left. The Lions kneeled to run out the clock as their fans stood, screamed and twirled white towels.
