Related storiesThe boom of strength training in 2020Australian personal trainer Kayla Itsines developed the uber popular "Sweat with Kayla" app. "The 20-somethings, the 40-somethings, the 60-somethings will all be gravitating towards strength training, just because of the benefits it provides." They're branding themselves as more of a high-intensity training equipment provider than just a stair-climbing apparatus provider these days. Strength training is ideal for extending your "play span," your ability to keep doing what you love as you age. "What strength training really affords people is to make age just feel like a number," he said.

The kind of support Jacob needs, including having someone available 24 hours a day, is upward of $9,000 a month. With this in mind, we knew we could not afford to have Jacob living in the facility. So, my wife and I instead considered building an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) in our backyard. One of these, Independent Living Services (ILS), provides a set number of hours a week for in-home assistance with Jacob. After moving out, he qualifies for Supported Living Services (SLS), which expands the number of hours he can get in-home support.

CNN —Two lion brothers, including one with an amputated leg, were spotted making a record-breaking night swim through treacherous waters in Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park. Researchers believe that the nearly mile-long (1.6-kilometer) crossing of the crocodile-infested Kazinga Channel is the longest documented swim by lions. They were likely in search of females after losing dangerous fights to another group of male lions — and to avoid humans while doing so, according to the researchers. Alex Braczkowski/Griffith UniversityAt the end of January, the team witnessed Jacob and Tibu enter into two vicious fights with other male lions within 48 hours. “There was terrific incentive to get across.”Looking out for one anotherPacker’s research has shown that when male lions stick together, they sire more cubs.

A California man was sentenced to six months in federal prison on Monday for allegedly lying to federal authorities when they were investigating an airplane he intentionally crashed to make a YouTube video. The man, former Olympic snowboarder Trevor Daniel Jacob, filmed the YouTube video stunt to promote a wallet from a company that sponsored him, according to the plea agreement filed in the Central District of California. He pled guilty to destruction and concealment of a tangible object with intent to obstruct a federal investigation. Jacob took off on a solo flight on Nov. 24, 2021, in Santa Barbara County, California, and parachuted out of the plane with a video camera and selfie stick. Jacob allegedly agreed to inform the NTSB of the location, but lied multiple times when investigators asked over the next two months.

Illumina 's board on Tuesday named Jacob Thaysen the DNA sequencing company's new CEO as it tries to rebound from a grinding dispute over its acquisition of cancer test developer Grail. Thaysen, a 48-year-old longtime executive at medical devices firm Agilent , will step in as CEO on Sept. 25. Arsenal win 2-0 at Newcastle to stay in title hunt

NEWCASTLE, England, May 7 (Reuters) - Arsenal showed no sign of raising the white flag in the Premier League title race with a 2-0 victory at Newcastle United on Sunday to close the gap on leaders Manchester City to one point. Newcastle stay third on 65 but Manchester United could overtake them later on Sunday if they win at West Ham United and Liverpool will sense some anxiety as they continue to chase. They also had the bitter memory of a 2-0 defeat at Newcastle a year ago that scuppered their top-four hopes. But this Arsenal side, despite the recent wobbles that have cost them top spot, are made of much sterner stuff. Pope came to Newcastle's rescue again in stoppage time at the end of a frenetic first half, keeping out Odegaard's shot with his legs after the Norwegian looked favourite to score.

Former Vice President Mike Pence speaks during an event to promote his new book at the conservative Heritage Foundation think tank on October 19, 2022 in Washington, DC. Lawyers for former Vice President Mike Pence said a "small number" of classified documents were found at his home in Indiana last week. Pence's lawyers notified the National Archives and Records Administration of the discovery on Wednesday, according to a letter obtained by CNBC. The classified documents were first discovered on Jan. 16 after Pence had outside counsel "with experience in handling classified documents" search his own home and records "out of an abundance of caution" following the news that classified documents were found at President Joe Biden's home and office. Evellyn Singleton, 23, began working as a nanny for an affluent, Nashville-based family last fall. She watched their son, Jacob, during their vacation in Nantucket and posted about it on TikTok. Jacob's mom told me she was initially drawn to my profile because it really focused on who I was as a person rather than just listing my nanny experience. The family was living in Nantucket, Massachusetts, for the month, but they're based in Nashville during the rest of the year. JERUSALEM, Oct 25 (Reuters) - Israeli forces killed a leader of the so-called "Den of Lions", a fast-rising Palestinian militant group from the city of Nablus on Tuesday in a targeted operation that set off one of the biggest gunfights seen in the West Bank in weeks. While members of the group have great prestige in the Old City, none of its leaders has established a wide profile outside their home town. According to local Palestinian officials, the original core group of four young militants was mainly motivated by anger at the encroachments of Israeli settlers and confrontations with the Israeli military. The group is not linked to the mainstream Palestinian factions or the deeply unpopular Palestinian Authority and does not appear to have any fully articulated political goals beyond fighting the Israeli occupation. Clashes with settlers at Jacob's Tomb, a well-known monument and pilgrimage site in Nablus, were taken by members of the group as a particular challenge.
