CNN —Israeli soccer fans were attacked in a “serious incident of violence in Amsterdam” overnight into Friday, Israeli authorities said, with the government saying it was sending planes to evacuate affected citizens. Social media video shared by the embassy showed videos of what it said was violence against Maccabi fans. Israeli foreign minister Gideon Sa’ar said 10 citizens were injured and advised citizens to stay in their hotels. Maccabi fans had been in the Dutch capital ahead of Thursday night’s Europa League game against Ajax. The police also said a demonstration was planned on Thursday near the stadium ahead of the soccer match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

A jury has found a man guilty of conspiring to steal a passenger jet and commit a 9/11-inspired attack under the direction of Somalian terrorist organization “al Shabaab.”Cholo Abdi Abdullah, 34, was found guilty Monday on six counts including conspiring to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization and conspiring to murder U.S. nationals. Abdullah had sworn allegiance to Harakat al-Shabaab al-Mijahideen, the militant Islamist group commonly known as “al Shabaab,” based in Somalia, prosecutors said. He took part in a plot to hijack a commercial plane and crash it into a building in the U.S., reminiscent of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, prosecutors said. He also sent encrypted messages to his al Shabaab handler which included details on post-9/11 hijackings. On Monday, he was further convicted on counts of providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization, conspiring to commit aircraft piracy, conspiring to destroy aircraft, and conspiring to commit acts of terrorism transcending national boundaries.

CNN —The Biden administration is close to approving the sale of as many as 50 American-made F-15 fighter jets to Israel, in a deal expected to be worth more than $18 billion, according to three people familiar with the matter. Since Hamas’ attack on Israel in October, which killed over 1,200 Israelis, the US has made more than 100 foreign military sales to Israel. Most of those have fallen under the specific dollar amount that requires a notification to Congress, an official familiar with the matter previously told CNN. CNN —A man set himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC, on Sunday, according to a statement from the Washington Metropolitan Police Department. The adult male was transported by DC Fire and EMS to a local hospital and remains in critical condition, MPD said. JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel accused Hamas on Saturday of planning to attack its embassy in Sweden as part of an expansion by the Palestinian Islamist militant group into Europe, where authorities announced the arrests of several suspects last month. In a statement following up on the arrests announced by Danish, German and Swedish authorities, Israel's Mossad intelligence agency named an alleged Hamas network member in Sweden, without specifying whether he was also in custody. The Foreign Ministry in Stockholm declined to comment on the specific security of Israel's embassy, but said: "Sweden takes its commitments under the Vienna Convention to protect foreign missions very seriously." The Mossad statement said a multi-national investigation received information that the Hamas network took orders from a group command post in Lebanon and had "intent to attack the Israeli embassy in Sweden, to procure paragliders and to activate members of criminal groups in Europe".
