Another question is whether Trump should have weighed in when New Orleans was on edge and authorities were still piecing together what happened and why. Fox later corrected its report to say the truck had actually crossed the border in November, with a driver who "did not appear to be" the suspect in the New Orleans attack. Conservatives on social media took note of the initial report, concluding that the suspect was a migrant and that lax border security might be to blame for the attack. “President Trump rightfully highlighted that criminals crossing the border have committed some of the most heinous crimes this country has witnessed in its history," he said. A Trump transition official predicted that the attacks would help ensure those national security selections are ultimately confirmed.

New York CNN —An erroneous early Fox News report about the New Orleans terror attack is warping the political dialogue in the aftermath of the deadly rampage. The false report from Fox, which was attributed to anonymous sources, confused the public – and evidently President-elect Donald Trump too. In fact, the New Orleans attack suspect was a US citizen and Army veteran. Eight minutes after the first Fox segment that mentioned the border, Trump issued a statement about “criminals coming in” from other countries. Fox continued to stream a clip on its website of the incorrect information.

President Joe Biden and Donald Trump, his predecessor and successor, have never been friendly. Trump has long insulted “Sleepy Joe” Biden and claims he ordered his multiple indictments, despite a lack of evidence. On Sunday, Biden was asked what Trump should take away from the life of Jimmy Carter after the 39th president’s passing. “Can you imagine Jimmy Carter, walking by someone who needs something and just keep walking?” Biden asked. “Can you imagine Jimmy Carter referring to someone by the way they look or the way they talk?

When President-elect Donald Trump retakes the White House in January, he could be flanked by a large cohort of young Indian American stars. These Indian Americans are perhaps the most well-represented minority group on the president-elect’s newly announced team. Others say the Indian American community has been poised to fit into the current Republican mold for some time. “It’s remarkable how disproportionately represented Indian Americans are compared to other communities of color,” said Karthick Ramakrishnan, founder of AAPI Data. “Trump had higher support among 18- to 34-year-old Indian Americans, and especially among Indian American men,” Ramakrishnan said.

Standing near them was another figure whose sway with the Republican nominee also cannot be discounted: the far-right provocateur Laura Loomer. Her anti-Muslim social media posts eventually earned her a ban from Twitter that lasted until billionaire Elon Musk bought the website, now known as X, and restored her account. She knows his personal number and has utilized it, one source familiar with the relationship told CNN. When Trump landed in Philadelphia on Tuesday before his debate against Harris, Loomer was among the close allies seen deboarding his private plane. In August of last year, Trump even suggested the campaign hire Loomer for an official role, sources told CNN at the time.

When you have General Flynn and Sidney Powell suggesting somehow the military should indeed seize voting machines. As we say in the podcast, Trump called him publicly at a recent conference in May, where he vowed to bring back Mike Flynn again, implying that Flynn would be part of his national security team. Stanley McChrystal, who I learned from your podcast was a mentor to Flynn in Afghanistan?
