A homeless Florida man was arrested Wednesday and charged with plotting to bomb the New York Stock Exchange to force a "reboot" or "reset" of the U.S. government, according to a criminal complaint. Yener told agents at the time that he was creating “rockets” with very “volatile” chemical mixtures that would explode if they were mixed incorrectly, the complaint says. Authorities announced an arrest Monday in the brutal murder of an exotic dancer whose body was discovered in a burning car on an Arizona interstate more than a year ago. Austin Suman, 35, of Myrtle Beach, has been charged with willfully making a threat involving explosives and interstate stalking, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York said. Suman sent death threats Nov. 8 to the reporter via Facebook and email and used a racial slur and derogatory language, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Friday. Suman's anger stemmed from an article the reporter wrote about him in February 2019 about allegations of him threatening a roommate with a gun. Prosecutors said threats that neutralizing threats against the press are a priority.

On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Nancy Brasel granted Trooper Ryan Londregan’s motion to dismiss the suit filed against him by the family of Ricky Cobb II. Brasel found that Londregan did not act unreasonably when he fired his weapon at Cobb as the man’s vehicle began moving forward with another state trooper partly inside. Cobb’s family filed its lawsuit in April accusing Londregan and Seide of excessive use of force and unreasonable search and seizure. An Alabama man was sentenced Tuesday to one year and nine months in prison for threatening a sheriff and a district attorney in Georgia over the jail mug shot of former President Donald Trump, prosecutors said. Prosecutors say that 62-year-old John Pollard sent several text messages to the representative, who isn’t named in court documents. The charges, which come just over two weeks before the 2024 presidential election, are part of an effort by the Justice Department to combat threats and violence against election workers.
