The United Nations said that its headquarters in southern Lebanon had been hit Sunday by a rocket amid an unnerving increase in attacks along the Israel-Lebanon border.
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, which is meant to help keep peace along the Israel-Lebanon border, said its base on the Mediterranean Sea had been hit by a rocket, but that there were no injuries.
“Despite our efforts, military escalation continues,” the U.N. force said.
“We urge all the parties involved to cease fire and allow us, as peacekeepers, to help find solutions.
No one wants to see more people hurt or killed.”
