The state of Assam, in northeastern India, has launched a mobile app that warns people of incoming herds of wild elephants in an effort to reduce violent encounters between humans and the land giants. Clashes between humans and elephants are not uncommon in India, and have continued to rise in recent years. Human-elephant conflicts in the state caused more than 200 elephant deaths and 400 human deaths from 2017 to 2022, the organization reported. "The application will act as an early warning system about presence of wild elephants in the proximity of human settlements so as to help villagers avoid negative interface with wild elephants," Aaranyak said in a Facebook post following the app's launch this month. Along with the launch of the app, Aaranyak also released a handbook with information on using solar-powered fences to keep elephants away from humans and property.

Along with its S24 series of smartphones, foldable devices, smartwatches and now the Galaxy Ring, Samsung is hoping to lock users into its world of products held together with its suite of artificial intelligence features, known as Galaxy AI. I think that's the right approach for Samsung, I don't think they have unrealistic expectations for volumes on this. ☆ Neuralink rival Synchron lets patients control Apple Vision Pro with their thoughts

Neurotech startup Synchron on Tuesday announced it has connected its brain implant to Apple 's Vision Pro headset. Apple released the Vision Pro earlier this year, and users typically control it with eye movements, voice commands and hand gestures. He said Synchron will likely work to connect its BCI to other headsets, but it's starting with the Vision Pro. Apple has been "very supportive" of the Vision Pro integration, he added. Synchron is a part of an increasingly competitive BCI industry, and the company said Tuesday that it is the first to connect its system to Apple's Vision Pro.
