"There's a lot of indicators pointing to guaranteed income playing a big part in retirement confidence." The problem for many American workers: Forms of guaranteed income are getting rarer. If you have a well-diversified portfolio of high-quality dividend stocks, Dogen contends, you can essentially ignore the ups and downs of the stocks in your portfolio and focus on raking in the steady cash. Following its latest earnings report, which exceeded expectations across all key segments, NVDA is trading at a compelling valuation relative to its peers. From a technical perspective, the recent pullback after the earnings report provides an attractive entry point for bullish exposure with strong risk/reward potential. Its 56% net margin significantly surpassing competitors which highlight why NVDA deserves its premium valuation while still offering substantial upside potential. The trade offers a 2:1 reward-to-risk ratio, providing a favorable way to participate in NVIDIA's expected upside while limiting downside exposure. BEFORE MAKING ANY FINANCIAL DECISIONS, YOU SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER SEEKING ADVICE FROM YOUR OWN FINANCIAL OR INVESTMENT ADVISOR.

AdvertisementAgility Robotics CEO Peggy Johnson says humanoid robots are filling some labor gaps. AdvertisementDigit is Agility Robotics' mobile manipulation humanoid robot. It competes with the likes of Apptronik, which is working with NASA on humanoid robots, and Boston Dynamics, which has created humanoid robots called Atlas that it says can run and jump over obstacles, as well as perform factory worker tasks. Agility Robotics' humanoid robots are currently only permitted to work inside a specific, cordoned-off space separate from human workers. Agility Robotics takes a similarly cautious approach to its application of artificial intelligence, which is deep in the hype stage.

Observably, both DI- and DI+ are reversing course, suggesting an early sign of a trend change. Support/Resistance Beyond technical indicators, traditional support and resistance levels further validate this trade setup. OLED has shown strong support at the 160 level, with the stock rebounding from this area, reinforcing the bullish case. To take a bullish trade on OLED, I'm using a trade structure called a "bull call spread." Dollar slips with bond yields on Treasury nomination
  + stars: | 2024-11-25 | by ( ) www.cnbc.com   time to read: +1 min
The dollar relinquished a little of its recent gains on Monday as the pick for U.S. Treasury secretary seemed to reassure the bond market and pulled yields lower, shaving some of the currency's rate advantage. Yields on 10-year Treasuries slipped to 4.351%, from 4.412% late Friday, as President-elect Donald Trump's choice of fund manager Scott Bessent was welcomed by the bond market as an old Wall Street hand and a fiscal conservative. However, Bessent has also been openly in favour of a strong dollar and has supported tariffs, suggesting any pullback in the currency might be fleeting. The index was last down 0.5% at 106.950, having hit a two-year peak of 108.090 on Friday. The dollar dipped 0.4% on the Japanese yen to 154.11, and further away from its recent peak of 156.76.

While the S & P 500 and Nasdaq 100 have both pushed to new all-time highs in November, market breadth indicators have mostly not confirmed those recent highs. Market breadth indicators like these are equal-weighted, meaning they simply count the number of stocks fulfilling a certain requirement. The change in that indicator over the last six weeks tells us that about 20% of the S & P 500 members have registered a sell signal on their point & figure charts! This chart shows the percent of stocks above their 200-day moving average, as well as the percent of stocks above their 50-day moving average as we quoted above. The S & P 500 continues to make higher lows, but a push below 5,850 would break that pattern which has been in place since August.

Target reported earnings Wednesday that came in far below Wall Street's expectations, something the big-box retailer attributed to slower-than-expected demand. The company announced profits that missed forecasts by 20%, its widest miss in two years. Broader stock trading did not immediately react, however, as Wall Street awaits earnings from chipmaker Nvidia, which has helped power the market higher throughout the year. Target's report comes a day after rival Walmart reported earnings and revenues that beat expectations. “We’re expecting this holiday period to be very consistent with that,” Walmart Chief Financial Officer John David Rainey told CNBC.

Bitcoin pushed to a fresh all-time peak above $94,000, carried by expectations for a friendlier regulator environment for cryptocurrencies under Trump. "The 'Trump Trade' that boosted the greenback is facing challenges from Trump's controversial cabinet nominations and the escalation in the Russian-Ukraine war," DBS strategists wrote in a client note. Traders continue to pare back expectations for an interest-rate cut at the Fed's next meeting in December. The dollar added 0.9% to 154.84 yen after falling sharply to 153.28 on Tuesday following the Russia news. Back in late September, I laid out a bearish thesis on Apple and the trade expired last Friday and resulted in a 100% gain. Apple (AAPL) continues to face significant headwinds, with disappointing iPhone 16 sales, growing competition in augmented reality, and underwhelming progress in artificial intelligence (AI). China's slowing economy has weighed heavily on Apple, exacerbating challenges in one of its largest markets. While Apple boasts industry-leading net margins of 24%, its expected EPS growth of 11.6% and revenue growth of 6.9% provide limited justification for this valuation premium. With iPhone sales growth faltering and the lack of a clear catalyst from AI or AR/VR initiatives, AAPL's premium valuation remains increasingly difficult to sustain.

The SPDR Gold Shares (GLD) has shown remarkable strength in 2024, soaring 40% between January and October. In the wake of President-elect Donald Trump's Nov. 5th victory, the stock and bond markets have had decidedly different reactions to the news. Initially, the stock market surged, while bonds sold off and drove interest rates higher. The bond market, along with other inflation indicators, have shown some concern about the notion that tax cuts pay for themselves. There have also been worries that the Trump tax cuts, if extended, would add considerably to annual deficits and the sum of the national debt. The stock market is viewed more favorably by many, as was Zeus in "Clash of the Titans."
