☆ Russia's oil trade is rising as record volumes of Russian crude are carried on 'dark fleet' vessels

According to Clearview Energy Partners, Russian crude prices over the last four weeks have averaged about six cents below the Brent crude price. Record volumes of sanctioned Russian oil were carried by the "dark fleet" and known sanctioned tankers without known insurance over September, according to a recent report from Lloyd's List. The Price Cap Coalition continues to engage with industry to ensure compliance with the price cap and to increase Putin's costs of going outside it." The increased use of dark fleet vessels comes with greater maritime safety and environmental risks. Insurance giant Allianz said in May that dark fleet tankers had been linked to more than 50 accidents.

"We were disappointed with the limited engagement from Rightmove that impeded our ability to make a firm offer within the timetable available. Rightmove, meanwhile, said Monday in a separate statement that its board unanimously rejected REA Group's fourth offer proposal on the grounds that it "materially undervalued Rightmove and its future prospects." The Federal Reserve is expected to make its first rate cut in just a few short hours, so CNBC Pro took a look at what stocks historically do best immediately after the start of an easing cycle. CNBC Pro searched for the stocks set to gain the most following a Fed rate cut, using data from prior easing cycles going back to 1984. Historically, Apple is up about 16% on a median basis three months after an initial cut from the Fed. Technology names tended to do well immediately after a Fed rate cut, with digital storage company Western Digital the top-performing stock, and semiconductor equipment company Lam Research the second-best performing one. Three months after a Fed rate cut, Western Digital gained more than 26% on a median basis, while Lam Research advanced more than 22%.

Australian property listing firm REA Group said on Wednesday that Britain's largest real estate portal Rightmove had rejected its 5.6 billion pounds ($7.32 billion) cash-and-stock takeover offer. CNN —Elon Musk has stepped up online attacks on a Supreme Court judge threatening to suspend social media platform X in Brazil, calling him “an evil dictator” in an ongoing feud between the two men. Justice Alexandre de Moraes had threatened to suspend X if Musk did not appoint a new legal representative of the company in Brazil and settle any outstanding daily fines within 24 hours. X announced earlier this month that it would close its operations and fire its staff in Brazil due to what it called “censorship orders” from the judge. The statement from the Supreme Court was posted at around 8.30 p.m. local time on Wednesday, giving Musk until Thursday evening local time to respond. The responsibility lies solely with Alexandre de Moraes.”Later that day, Musk reiterated the official X statement, saying his company had “no choice” but to close Brazilian operations.
