Billionaire Tilman Fertitta has increased his ownership stake in Wynn Resorts to 9.9%, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Wynn Resorts and Fertitta declined to comment on his increased stake. He is frequently outspoken about issues that affect Las Vegas, whether it is Formula One or historic union wage contracts. CNN —Victor Wembanyama recorded the second 5x5 game of his career on Thursday to power the San Antonio Spurs to a 106-88 victory over the Utah Jazz. Wembanyama finished with 25 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, five steals and five blocks, becoming just the third player in NBA history with multiple 5x5 games after Hakeem Olajuwon and Andrei Kirilenko. CNN —Former NBA player Chase Budinger is set to make his debut at the Olympics later this year, though he won’t be doing it on the hardwood. The 36-year-old has earned a spot on the US beach volleyball team alongside partner Miles Evans having switched sports seven years ago. According to NBC, Budinger will become the first person to have played an NBA regular season game and appeared at the Olympics in beach volleyball. He’s also the only athlete to make a career in both sports, according to AVP Beach Volleyball. CNN —Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry was left lamenting “self-inflicted wounds” after Draymond Green received his fourth ejection of the season during the team’s 101-93 victory over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. Green’s ejection came less than four minutes into the game after he received two technical fouls for disputing two separate foul calls. Green also a received a suspension during last season’s playoffs after stamping on the chest of Sacramento Kings big man Domantas Sabonis. Green was also left off Team USA’s Olympic roster due to his suspensions. Curry was visibly frustrated following Green’s latest ejection, shaking his head and covering his face with his jersey.

HOUSTON (AP) — A motive for why a woman in a trenchcoat opened fire in celebrity pastor Joel Osteen's megachurch in Texas remained unclear Monday after the shooting sent worshippers rushing for safety in between busy Sunday services. Police say two off-duty officers working security at Osteen's church, one of the largest megachurches in the U.S., shot and killed the suspect. Osteen said the violence could have been worse if the shooting had happened during the earlier and larger late Sunday morning service. Houston Police Chief Troy Finner did not identify the suspect at a news conference Sunday while standing near Osteen. The woman began shooting and was confronted by two off-duty officers, a Houston police officer and an agent with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, who returned fire.
