Read previewWarning: spoilers ahead for "House of the Dragon" season two. "House of the Dragon" season two has turned Daemon Targaryen, one of the show's most beloved characters, into a joke. At the end of the first season, the complex and charming Daemon (Matt Smith) emerged as one of the show's most popular characters. Related storiesBut in the chapters adapted for season two, Daemon only goes to Harrenhal and unites the Riverlands. But if the show's writers let themselves be constricted by the book's narrative, they risk "House of the Dragon" going stale — just like Daemon's story arc.

The Triarchy is an alliance of cities from Essos that's constantly warring with Westeros and Corlys Velaryon, the Blacks' sea commander, over a chain of islands known as the Stepstones. While on their way to fight the Blacks, the Triarchy captures a ship containing Rhaenyra's children, Prince Aegon the Younger and Prince Viserys. Aegon the Younger escapes on the dragon Stormcloud and warns the Blacks. In addition, the Triarchy hit Jacaerys' dragon Vermax with a grapnel, causing the dragon to fall.

"House of the Dragon" fans should probably check out "Game of Thrones." HBO"House of the Dragon" is a prequel to "Game of Thrones," meaning most fans have watched both. "Game of Thrones" has a similar tone to "House of the Dragon," an incredible cast, and an interesting story arc that kept audiences hooked for eight years. Plus, "Game of Thrones" wraps up a very important storyline that's part of "House of the Dragon." But the prophecy is not fulfilled until the final season of "Game of Thrones," set hundreds of years after "House of the Dragon."

"House of the Dragon" threw one new fascinating character in its season two finale that will have great importance down the line — Triarchy Admiral Lohar. But to do so, he has to win the respect of Admiral Lohar, the commander of the Triarchy fleet. Toward the end of the episode, Lohar and Tyland sail together with the Triarchy fleet, presumably bound for the Velaryon blockade. Eventually, a captain from Tyrosh captures him — but it's Fleet Admiral Sharako Lohar who claims him as a prisoner. In addition to attacking the Velaryon fleet, the Triarchy forces also made land on Driftmark, attacking a town called Spicetown.

Brynden Rivers/Lord Bloodraven in the "House of the Dragon" season two finale. Sydow's character also doesn't have the same red birthmark on his face as Brynden does in "House of the Dragon." It's possible this could be explained in "House of the Dragon" with the idea that the Three-Eyed Raven simply managed to change his appearance over time. Shortly after, the Night King and the White Walkers assault the cave where the Three-Eyed Raven lives. At the risk of mixing medieval metaphors, dragons are a double-edged sword. For Ryan Condal, the co-creator and showrunner of HBO’s “House of the Dragon,” the creatures are key to the show’s magic, literally and figuratively. “They are the one fantasy element that we’ve allowed ourselves,” he said. “In our world, in this period, the magic is these dragons.”But they are also death incarnate. “You take the city with an army if you want it to be standing afterward.
