Within hours of Biden dropping out of the race and endorsing his vice president on Sunday, Trump’s campaign managers had released a blistering statement tying Harris to the administration’s policies. Instead, Trump’s team had orchestrated an exacting campaign around defeating Biden. But it was soon widely acknowledged within Trump’s camp that Biden bowing out would also throw their own campaign into uncertainty. Trump’s campaign also began privately ramping up and testing new lines of attack on Harris — someone they had largely ignored since she was sworn in as vice president. While polling has shown Harris is the best known among possible Democratic candidates to replace Biden, Trump’s advisers and allies maintain that most Americans don’t know much about her, creating an opening to define her to the public.

President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump 2024. Kevin Lamarque | Jay Paul | ReutersWhen he faces President Joe Biden in Thursday's debate, former President Donald Trump will have to watch his tongue. Trump is still bound by multiple court-imposed gag orders that limit what he can say about his sprawling portfolio of legal troubles. The hush money gag orderTrump has grappled with the gag order applied by Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan during the ex-president's historic criminal hush money trial. But Merchan on Tuesday partially lifted the order, allowing Trump to speak about trial witnesses and the jurors.

President Biden’s campaign has been clear: He will debate former President Donald J. Trump only one-on-one. That hasn’t stopped Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from trying. As the deadline to qualify for the June 27 debate draws closer, Mr. Kennedy, who is running for president as an independent, has said he’s confident he can still meet host CNN’s requirements, while ramping up accusations that the news organization rigged the process. But Mr. Kennedy’s rivals do have a mutual interest in boxing him out, as The New York Times previously reported. Mr. Kennedy is drawing support away from both Mr. Biden and Mr. Trump, and both campaigns are concerned about the potential for him to swing the election in key battleground states.

CNN —Awards season has barely begun, and one of the stars of streaming’s most decorated shows is weighing in on the debate over whether legacy awards shows such as the Oscars, Emmys and BAFTAs should fuse their gendered acting categories to avoid a binary system. Now, “it’s difficult for me at the moment trying to justify in my head being non-binary and being nominated in female categories,” they said. Around the same time as Dillon’s exchange with the Academy, MTV announced they were doing away with gendered categories for its MTV Movie and TV Awards. The Grammys also got rid of gender-based categories in 2011, as part of a large-scale overhaul of the legacy music awards event. Other awards to more recently update their categories to exclude a gender binary include the Spirit Awards and the Canadian Screen Awards, both of which made the change this year.
Meagan Loyst, an associate at VC firm Lerer Hippeau, is leaving to focus on Gen Z VC full-time. After investing in dozens of founders over the past two years as an associate at venture-capital firm Lerer Hippeau, Meagan Loyst is stepping away to focus on Gen Z VCs, the online community she founded. After getting flooded with responses, she set up a Slack channel to connect around 700 Gen Z founders and investors, and the group has continued to grow since. Through Gen Z VCs, Loyst plans to host networking events in major cities, much like the group's summits in Chicago and Los Angeles last month. She also intends to monetize her own online following as a Gen Z expert through her online newsletter, "The Gen Z POV," video content on TikTok and YouTube, and speaking at summits.
The top management consulting firms — which include McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Bain & Company, and Accenture — are notoriously tough to break into. Insider asked Smith and two other recruiters for management consulting on their top tips for breaking into the ranks of McKinsey, BCG, Bain, and Accenture. "We've noticed that more consulting firms are expanding beyond MBA degrees and into other advanced degrees to fill their post-graduate classes." Stokes added that candidates can leverage the international piece of the tripod by keeping in mind that McKinsey, BCG, Bain, and Accenture have offices worldwide.
