A homeless Florida man was arrested Wednesday and charged with plotting to bomb the New York Stock Exchange to force a "reboot" or "reset" of the U.S. government, according to a criminal complaint. Yener told agents at the time that he was creating “rockets” with very “volatile” chemical mixtures that would explode if they were mixed incorrectly, the complaint says. Undercover FBI agents later made contact with Yener and convinced him they wanted to help him carry out an attack, it says. “There is one place that would be hella easy...the stock exchange, that would be a great hit," Yener said, according to the complaint. A lone, knife-wielding assailant killed two men and critically wounded a woman during an hourslong stabbing spree Monday morning through the streets of New York City, authorities said. KABUL, Afghanistan — The Taliban will attend a U.N. climate conference for the first time since their takeover of Afghanistan in 2021, the country’s national environment agency said Sunday. Daniel Penny went “way too far” when he put Jordan Neely in a chokehold on a New York City subway train last year until he died, a Manhattan prosecutor told jurors Friday during opening statements in Penny’s manslaughter trial. “A chokehold is only permitted when it’s absolutely necessary and only for as long as it’s absolutely necessary,” Yoran told jurors. He talked about being hungry, thirsty and made threats about hurting people and wanting to go back to jail, which frightened people on the train, Yoran said. In addition to opening statements, jurors on Friday heard from three police officers who had responded to the subway car. Kenniff said jurors also would hear during the trial from subway riders who had feared for their lives.

CNN —Ahead of Hurricane Milton, many families in Florida were hunkering down in their homes or packing up their belongings to evacuate. She said she tried to get into multiple hurricane shelters, but the ones nearby were all full, and others were five hours away. “You can’t get to any of the hurricane shelters if you have a car that barely drives and you have no gas money to put in it,” said Jessica. “So, it’s just like you’re stuck with your fingers crossed with two children.”Unfortunately, Jessica’s experience during Hurricane Milton was not unique.
