Demand for AI agents is giving birth to a new class of startups and VCs hungry to invest in them. It was a topic of conversation at the Evident AI Symposium in New York on Thursday. To take AI agents a step further, technologists and startup investors are fueling a shift to so-called multi-agent systems that coordinate several AI agents to complete more complex tasks more autonomously. Well, that's still being worked out, according to a number of tech executives at the Evident AI Symposium Thursday. Rather than developing its own AI models, JPMorgan designed LLM Suite to be a portal that allows users to tap external large language models — the complex programs underpinning generative AI tools — and launched it with ChatGPT maker OpenAI’s LLM, said the people. Tim Fitzgerald will succeed Heitsenrether as global head of securities services, according to another memo. Since Heitsenrether took over securities services in 2015, the division's revenue has risen by more than 22%, while assets under custody grew by almost $9 trillion, according to the memo announcing her new position. Fitzgerald, based in Dublin, was promoted in 2021 to global head of custody and fund services after joining the lender in 2016. He will report to Marc Badrichani and Troy Rohrbaugh under a newly merged division overseeing markets, sales, research and securities services. Badrichani runs global sales and research at the bank, while Rohrbaugh leads its trading arm.
